When we first began, we used a material called HDPE which stands for High-Density Polyethene. When we engraved it with the Laser, the material formed together. After we used this material, we tried using Lexan Polycarbonate. When we tried this, the plastic turned black because of the intense heat. Finally, we used Plexiglass Acrylic and this material worked perfectly.
We used the CarveWright machine to cut out our bases using oak wood. The bases came out to be 6.5"x6.5".
